And the most important thing is that we hear the interview audio, and that this is accompanying it and not overshadowing it. (music plays very loud) Which it is, so we'll bring this down. Usually audio is mixed very loud, so it's likely going to drown out our interview audio quite a bit. All right, so let's go ahead and take a listen here. So, again, I can use the Slice tool over here, keyboard shortcut "C", and I'll just cut right here and then I'll go back to my selection tool, "V", all right? And then we'll select this and then we can simply delete that. Then I'll just bring this to the beginning here, and the audio is really long, but let's go ahead and cut this off and then we'll fade it out. If I drag over to audio one, that's where it will go, but it will automatically add audio tracks if I drag down, so I'll go down, and you can see that track two is added and here's audio two. But I do want to show you that you can drag things straight from the media window into the editor. So I'm going to go into Music, and then, so far, we've been loading it into Trimmer, setting our in and out points and bringing it to the editor.

Now what if you need to raise and lower your audio levels within the same clip? OK, so this was a uniform adjustment, but now I want to teach you how to add audio key frames so that you can raise and lower those levels within one clip. Now, this was just one audio clip, and usually you have an entire sequence of audio, so you'll need to do that multiple times. The extra four in my hand and I roll them. Then I put them- All right, I think that's pretty good, maybe a little bit more. I take the extra four in my hand and I roll them. I'm going to play again and see where we're at. Probably the easiest way to do that is to just grab this white line here and drag up, all right? And once you do, it's going to raise those audio levels. We're peaking between -24 and -18, so we'll need to raise those audio levels a bit. Then I put them back on the- All right, so things are a little low. So I take the extra four in my hand and I roll them. Let's take a listen at where our audio is now and we'll see if we need to raise or lower those audio levels. All right, so our principal audio needs to peak right around -12 dB, between negative 12 and negative six.
If you don't see that, you can go up to View and then Panels and then make sure that Meters is checked. You should have a meters window open, this is part of the editing workspace. And before we make those changes, I want to make sure that we're all looking at the same thing. And the first thing I want to talk about is making basic audio changes. So if you followed along, you should have something fairly similar. I have just a very short sequence in my editor now, and we've put this together in the previous two movies. Now, I just want to finish by showing you a few extra things. All right, so we've covered the basics of the Hitfilm Express interface and editing tools.
